If you watch VTubers, you've probably heard her music! Daryl Vanessa Barnes is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who has produced custom music for hundreds of VTubers including Ironmouse, Zentreya, Projekt Melody, Nyanners, Sinder, and countless more. She recently achieved her lifelong dream of scoring for animation, bursting onto the scene with major projects such as Mazumaro's animated short "Myth's Bad Ending" (2022), the Tonari Animation-produced anime OVA "Ironmouse Unleashed" (2023), and various VTuber lore videos produced by Merryweather Media and Galeia Studio.
When she's not helping VTuber indies and corporations build iconic audio brands, Daryl explores her "musical artist" side through her solo works, which incorporate thematic motifs and emotional orchestrations. Despite having no formal training in music - learning orchestration simply by watching live symphony concerts and taking notes - Daryl has gained a mastery of orchestral storytelling, evident in her debut solo work Shoujo Fantasia - a yuri concept album that tells the story of two young women falling in love through nine motif-laced tracks.
